IUI (Intrauterine insemination)

IUI is a fertility procedure in which sperm is implanted into a woman's uterus to aid conception. It's a straightforward method that aids healthy sperm in approaching the egg. The female partner will be given fertility medications or ovulogens first, and the ovulation cycle will be tracked by Transvaginal Ultrasound. A trigger injection will be given after the follicles have reached their maximum size and have a healthy endometrial lining. After that, IUI is carried out. Before beginning the IUI cycle, the male partner should be advised to undergo sperm analysis, and some may require medication to increase the count and motility of the spermatozoa. It is also important to ensure tubal patency by SSG/HSG or laparoscopy prior to IUI

ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection)

ICSI is a type of in vitro fertilisation that is typically utilised in situations of severe male infertility, after several unsuccessful fertilisation attempts with traditional IVF, or after egg freezing (oocyte preservation).

If a man has no sperm in his ejaculate but is producing sperm, testicular sperm extraction, or TESE, can be used to obtain it. ICSI is required for sperm obtained using TESE. If the sperm is collected from the man's urine, ICSI is also performed in situations of retrograde ejaculation.
